My name is Zoë and I am a visual artist who creates from my home studio in Austin, Texas.

Primarily a painter, I enjoy bringing life to atmospheric pieces that draw you in time and time again. Most of my artwork has a clear subject matter but often abstraction can make an appearance. Everything I make carries a piece of me and is innately “Zoeesque”.

With the increased use of Artificial Intelligence being used as a means to replace creators from all guilds, I am nurturing my current series of artworks with the study history of Fine Art and what that means in a contemporary setting. No AI from me, not even in the copy.

Portraiture is a favorite focus of mine. I like to capture the feeling in a moment, preserving an echo of their personality forever in paint. Living in Austin, musicians are naturally alluring for this type of expression.

When it comes to self portraits, I simplified my self image during the 2020 lockdown. I represent myself as a little house with a vermillion door. I began to imagine myself in a multitude of locations, daydreaming about what my life would be like in those spaces.

The red door series, as my brother and most avid collector has called them, follow a strict design of line work and color.
While appearing simple, these artworks are a result of repetitive design study. Only the visually stimulating artworks make it to the public eye. These works posess inspiration from the artists Mondrian, Cezanne, and Shel Silverstien.

Will I ever own my own home? Who knows, but I will make the most of where I live with my husband and our two pups.

Home is where the heart is, and with that thought, I will always be home.
